The house, located in the upper part of Barcelona, is the work of architect Carlos Ferrater. Characterized by straight lines, modernity, and daylight entering in almost every room. The task for us, the interior design team, was to add warmth and personality, while respecting and not competing with the architecture of the building.
Sophisticated furniture pieces from brands like Minotti, B&B Italia were mixed with authentic design classics from Cassina and ClassiCon amongst others. Contemporary Berber style rugs and colorful Bocci lights are giving the necessary accents. Warm accent colors enter through details and objects, while furniture is kept in neutral tones.
Materials and textiles were chosen in distinct variations that together create a vibrant lively ambient. Sophisticated surfaces like gloss ebony and marble are juxtaposed to rough textured textiles or smooth velvet. Using colorful glass in furniture and lights plays with architecture of the building and ads the impression of vibrant light running through.
